High potential and gifted education
At Eastwood Heights Public School, we are committed to identifying, nurturing and challenging our high-potential and gifted learners. Through a combination of data-driven assessment and targeted support, we provide differentiated classroom programs and enrichment opportunities across the creative, intellectual, physical and social-emotional domains. Teachers identify high potential in students using objective and reliable measures as part of formative assessment that supports and informs teaching and learning. We support advanced learners with engaging lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.
The school offers a broad range of talent development opportunities across areas such as sport, music, the creative arts and student leadership, supporting the growth and refinement of students’ unique learning abilities.
Close collaboration with families and the wider community helps to ensure each student’s talents are recognised and developed. Our teachers engage in ongoing professional learning to build their capability to enhance growth and achievement for all high potential and gifted students.
